The Fall/Winter Gown Trends from a Top Designer

Every year in bridal fashion brings with it new ideas of how to present the bride.  From gown length and style to the number of layers of tulle and the poofiness of the shoulders, designers around the world exercise their creative muscles to give you that one-of-a-kind look that seems to be made just for you on your wedding day.  Top designer Rita Vinieris recently gave us a list of the latest trends for Fall 2021/Spring 2022. Which one fits you best?

I’m reminded of a Seinfeld episode where George wants to bring the woman he’s dating to a work function because she’ll clearly make an entrance. Of course, silliness ensues, and Kramer ends up being his date.  Their slapstick continues as he twirls into the function and his suit is ripped from his back creating the perfect backless “look”!  That’s not really what we’re talking about here but you’ll of course make a statement in a backless gown.  They’re all about the details, intricate lace, hand beading, and sweet buttons make an ultimate statement of glamour and drama!

Sleeves or no sleeves?  That is the question!  But why decide when you can have both?  Detached sleeves are becoming quite a trend in wedding fashion as they can change up your entire look in seconds!  We’re seeing simple pull-on sleeves that add a little sparkle or poof to your look or full on out dramatic sleeves that have a bit of a train on them as well. Shop your personality and mix up the look for your wedding day.

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it right?  Classic wedding gowns have clean lines and lots of glamour. They’re classic for a reason and they pretty much don’t go out of style.  Rest assured, the classic gown is NOT boring but based on tried-and-true necklines, textures, silhouets and embellishments. You simply can’t go wrong with a classic gown in just about any type of wedding from a backyard wedding to a ballroom reception or even a destination wedding.

The Return of the Ball Gown

Ballgowns are characterized by a fitted bodice (like a corset) with a wide, billowing full skirt.  They generally have a lot of layers of tulle and are super dramatic.  Think Disney princess! You know the one – where she’s walking down this grand staircase in this beautifully flowing gown with the birds carrying her train as she proceeds to her Prince Charming.  And even better yet, the ball gown flatters almost every body type and is the perfect choice for a glamourous bride.
