The guy comes up and says you’re awesome. I normally don’t like djs but your ‘e playing a great selection of music and I had to come up and tell you. Throughout the evening, I have people coming up to me to share with me how happy they are with my music. The manager comes up and whispers, “interesting dinner music. You’re keeping the energy level up. I like it.”
The photographer is complimentary and wants some of my cards. The reason everyone is enjoying what I’m doing is because I am paying attention to what’s happening and applying the music accordingly. I don’t use the typical cheesy dj voice. I personally feel that it’s not necessarily what you say, but what you play and when to play it that make a memorable event.
I play what everyone wants to hear and follow the instructions of what the bride and groom want. “Young people and older ones. Male and female approach me and say, “you know, you’re really good at what you do” If you allow me to prove that to you at your next event, you’ll understand what I’m talking about. Everyone remembers the music. |
