Michele and Darren
Wedding Date: July 12, 2008
We both have differing views on when was the first time we met, but we know it revolved around our love of running. I remember training for a marathon and Darren suggested we go on a training run since he had experience running them. Needless to say…I left him in the dust!
Later, when he wanted to propose, he wanted to incorporate the two loves of my live (my dogs) in to the proposal. He attached the bag with the ring box around one of my dogs collars. When I turned and saw what was on her collar, I knew what was happening.
We chose to do our ceremony and reception at Ripken Stadium since we both grew up in the area and had been to many Iron Bird games while we were dating. So with that in mind, our theme revolved around baseball. Our guest book was a full size cut out of us in baseball uniforms for guests to sign, we served popcorn and peanuts during the ceremony and we had our wedding party toss t-shirts and baseballs into the stands after the ceremony. We also had our DJ sing the Star Spangled Banner at the beginning of the ceremony, I entered to Wild Thing and we left to Take Me Out To The Ball Game.
Knowing that Darren wanted all of our guests to remember our special day, he surprised everyone with an amazing firework display. We were so lucky to have so many friends and family join us and share in our perfect day.
