How did you meet?
We met through mutual friends who thought that we would be a good match. Our first date, was supposed to be a bowling outing with those friends, however, the bowling alley was closed for a private party so we ended up going to dinner instead. Our second date was delayed by a fire on the interstate, a few traffic accidents and a faulty GPS. Ultimately, we did go bowling. Tim won 2 games out of 3.
How did Tim propose?
We were planning a trip to Jamaica during the summer of 2012 and decided to spend a few days in Ohio visiting LaShanda’s family before leaving the country. While there, unbeknownst to LaShanda, Tim asked her father for his permission to ask for LaShanda’s hand in marriage. After receiving her father’s blessing, he proposed in Jamaica on May 29, 2012. Although LaShanda was expecting a proposal, the exact moment caught her by surprise. After the proposal, we both called our parents and texted our friends. We waited about week, however, to put the news on Facebook.
Honeymoon Location:
Our honeymoon was 9 days long. We spent one day in San Juan, PR on each end of the trip to St. John in the Virgin Islands. We chose St. John because it is not as “touristy” as St. Thomas and some of the other Caribbean islands. We were able to stay in a villa in the mountains, which was romantic and secluded. We happened to be in St. John during Carnival and were able to see the wonderfully colorful parade and take part in the other festivities.
