Frances and Stephen
Having played on the same kickball team with Steve’s co-workers, Steve and I met one evening at the kickball bar. We both felt that we had met before, but now know that it was our hears and souls that connected.
After dating for a while, Steve proposed one snowy day in Vermont. Steve said that he had gotten almost everything he wanted for Christmas - everything except for one thing. When I looked, Steve was on one knee and pulled out a beautiful ring. We decided to have a longer engagement so we could enjoy being engaged.
We decided to go with the theme, “All You Need Is Love.” We had that printed on our invitations and place cards. We also weaved Beatles music in though out the whole wedding. We kept the decor very natural and organic by going with chocolate browns, ivories and a mixture of softer pinks and some greens.
To add to the emotions of the day, my Matron of Honor, who has Stage 4 cancer, was unable to attend the wedding. To surprise me, my husband and bridesmaid played a tape of my Matron of Honor reading her speech while dressed in her bridesmaid dress. There wasn’t a dry eye in the building.
The best thing of the day was marrying my husband, hearing my father’s speech, dancing with my father and being with everyone we love on our perfect day.
